Community & Charity

As a Perth-based business, we believe in playing an active part in the community where we live and work. Our involvement goes beyond property, supporting the people, charities and local projects that make Perth and the surrounding area a better place.

Our involvement with Rotary

Smart & Co is a business member of the Rotary Club of Perth, and both our directors, Graeme Duncan and Doug Smart, are also individual members. Graeme is the Club’s current Fundraising Convenor, a role he has held for several years, helping to organise fundraising activities in support of charitable causes.

Founded in 1917, the Rotary Club of Perth is one of Scotland’s longest-established Rotary clubs. Its guiding principle, “Service Above Self”, brings together people from across the community to make a difference locally, nationally and internationally.

Supporting local causes

A key part of the Club’s fundraising programme is the Perth Silent Auction, which brings together businesses, individuals and bidders to raise funds for charity. It is a great example of what can be achieved when the local community gets involved, whether by donating a prize, making a bid or helping behind the scenes.

The Club’s wider activities include the Perth Charity Fayre, Perthshire Classic Car Tour and Annual Charity Golf Day, alongside youth projects, leadership opportunities and practical volunteering. Together, these activities support charitable organisations, give young people opportunities and help community groups reach a wider audience.

Through our business membership and our directors’ personal involvement, we are pleased to contribute time, effort and support to this work.

Get involved

You do not need to be a Rotary member to make a difference. Donating an auction prize, supporting an event or volunteering your time can all help.

To support the Perth Silent Auction or find out more about getting involved, please speak to Graeme or Doug. You can also register your interest with the Rotary Club of Perth directly.
